Day 1

After arrival at Budapest airport, bus transfer to Villány (about 230 km South from Budapest).

On the way lunch & wine tasting at a fish restaurant by the Danube.

After lunch continuation to Villány, where a dinner with wine tasting takes place.

Overnight in Villány in a 4* hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast a tour of Villány region follows, which ends in a lunch with wine tasting at Blum Cellar.

The cellars in Villánykövesd, located some kilometers away from Villány, represent the special folk architecture. The inhabitants of Villánykövesd have been making a living of wine-growing and winery for centuries. 70 cellars at the end of the village are part of national monuments.

The owner, János Blum, welcomes the guests at his wine cellar in Villánykövesd with a wide selection of wines and home-grown Hungarian favors. He adapted the profession of wine-making from his father. He runs the family business with the help of his daughters and they can pride themselves on many gold, silver and bronze medals from different wine competitions. 

Afterwards a visit to the wine museum and another wine tasting at Gere Winery follows.

Attila Gere established the Gere family enterprise, which is one of the most known wineries in Hungary. The new factory of Gere Winery – which was opened in 2002 – alloys the most modern technology with the wine making traditions of Villány.

Day 3

After breakfast a tour of the town Siklós follows with a visit to its castle.

At lunch time you can enjoy a tasty meal and a wine tasting (white wines of Siklós) at the new Brunyai Cellar.

The winery – taking advantage of the region’s qualities – cultivates great located areas. In terms of wine grape varieties it grows the followings: Olasz rizling, Rajnai rizling, Királyleányka, Hárslevelű, Portugieser, Kékfrankos, Kadarka, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Savignon.

In the afternoon a visit to the Harkányi Spa will help you relax before travelling again and arriving to Pécs in the evening.

Dinner and wine tasting at Bagolyvár Restaurant.

Day 4

Breakfast in the hotel and then a city tour in Pécs, followed by another delicious lunch and wine tasting (Pécs region wines) at Somogyi Cellar.

The first plans of the family wine cellar were created by Dévényi Sándor and Ybl, who is a Kossuth Prize-winning architect. In the park, in front of the winery some sculptures, called Bacchanalia group (made by Rétfalvy Sándor) welcome the guests. In the cellar there is an exclusive wine shop, which is a special location for wine tastings.

Overnight in Pécs in a 4* hotel.

Day 5

After breakfast departure from Pécs. First a stop in Zengővárkony, where the Museum of Easter Eggs awaits your visit. Then you can enjoy a city tour in the city of Szekszárd, followed by a lunch and wine tasting at the Mészáros family wine estate and restaurant (Szekszárdi area wines).

Overnight in Szekszárd in a 4* hotel.

Day 6

Breakfast in the hotel, followed by a visit in the Sárközi Museum and the town of Mohács. At lunch time you arrive to Planina Winehouse, where you have lunch and a wine tasting.

The family and artisan winery was founded in 2003 with the aim to preserve the excellent endowments of the vineyards Mohács. Then they started to deal with grape growing.

In the afternoon free time for shopping.

In the evening a farewell dinner in Szekszárd.

Day 7

Breakfast in the hotel and then departure for Budapest (160 km).

Flight home.
