DAY 01 – LISBOA / ELVAS
Arrival at Lisbon International Airport. Assistance and private transfer to Elvas, on the border with Spain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest fortiﬁed city in Europe. Accommodation, time to rest from the travel and overnight stay.
DAY02 –ELVAS / ZAFRA / CORDOBA
Breakfast and departure for Cordoba, which was an important Roman city and a major Islamic centre in the Middle Ages. The city is well known for La Mezquita, an immense mosque dating from 784 AD, a unique example of the fusion between Islamic and Christian culture. Arrival at the hotel. Accommodation and overnight stay.
DAY 03 – CORDOBA
Breakfast and tour of the city and the Mosque, which has the oldest Byzantine mosaics. Later, the mosque became a Catholic church in 1236. But the attractions of Cordoba are not limited to the Mosque/Cathedral: the Roman bridge, the patios of San Basilio, the Alcazar, the Port of Almodovar, etc. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
DAY 04 – CORDOBA / GRANADA
Breakfast and departure for Granada, a city situated in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Here we find winter sports resorts, particularly ski resorts. Granada is known for its magnificent examples of medieval architecture dating back to the Moorish occupation. Arrival at the hotel, accommodation and overnight stay.
DAY 05 – GRANADA
Breakfast and city tour with special focus on the Alhambra. this immense hilltop fortress includes royal palaces, serene courtyards and water mirrors from the Nasrid dynasty, plus the fountains and orchards of the Generalife gardens. The Alhambra and the charming Albaicin district (Albaycín in Arabic), are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
DAY 06 – GRANADA / SEVILLA
Breakfast. Departure for Seville, the capital of the Andalusia region in southern Spain. A city famous for ﬂamenco dancing, especially in the Triana neighbourhood, it stands out for its artistic and architectonic landmarks. Arrival at the hotel. Accomodation and overnight stay.
DAY 07 – SEVILLA
Breakfast and city tour. Seville has always mantained traces of Arabic culture. Its greatest examples are the Cathedral, in Gothic style, which houses the tomb of Christopher Columbus and includes the famous and magnificent Giralda Tower; the majestic Alcázar palace/castle and the 18th century Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza. Overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 08 – SEVILLA / OLHÃO / FARO / VILAMOURA / ALBUFEIRA
Breakfast and departure for the Algarve. Crossing the bridge over the Guadiana river, across the border, we reach the small town of Olhão, in the eastern Algarve. Then Faro, the capital of the Algarve. Vilamoura, which is known for its luxurious marina, merges with the town of Quarteira, where there are more golden sand beaches. Finally, Albufeira, one of the most important and busy summer resorts in Europe. Arrival at the hotel and overnight stay.
DAY 09 – ALBUFEIRA / LAGOS / SAGRES / ALBUFEIRA
Breakfast. Full day tour of Lagos and its Marina. Boat trip to the caves and rock formations of Piedade. Then, we reach the small town of Sagres and its 15th century military fortress. Finally, Cape São Vicente, located at the southwestern tip of mainland Portugal. Return to the hotel in Albufeira. Overnight stay.
DAY 10 – ALBUFEIRA / ÉVORA
Breakfast and private transfer to the historic city of Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Arrival at the hotel and time to relax. At 3pm, starts the tour of the historic centre: the Roman Temple, the Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral, St Francis Church and the Chapel of Bones. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
DAY 11 – ÉVORA / LISBOA
Breakfast. Departure for Lisbon, which will take an hour. Arrival and start of the city sightseeing tour, with special focus on the historic monuments in Belém. Arrival at the hotel. Free time in the afternoon. Overnight stay at the hotel.
DAYS 12 AND 13 – LISBOA
