DAY 1: Brussels
Morning
Arrival at Brussels airport Welcome by our guide and city tour of Brussels upon arrival
We start our sightseeing tour by bus covering all Brussels places of interest outside the historical city center: the Atomium, the Royal Palace of Laeken, the Japanese tower and the Chinese pavilion,the Cinquantenaire Park,the EU-quarter,the Palace of Justice,the Warande park,the Wetstraat/ Rue de la Loi,the Cathedral of the Saints Michael and Gudule, … .
Transfer to the center for lunch
Lunch in a typical Brussels restaurant on the Grand Place
Afternoon
On foot we walk in the historic center of Brussels. Through the St Hubertus galleries, over the Grand Place with the beautiful guild house gables, the notoriously small Manneken Pis, the square with the imposing 19th century Stock Market, the Katelijneplein/Place St Cathérine, the Mint and its theater, … We the end of the morning we visit the Cantillon brewery. After the visit we taste a Geuze beer (= this type of beer is only brown in the Brussels area).

DAY 2 : Bruges + Ghent

Bruges (Brugge)
Visit on foot of the historical center including the highlights of the Venice of the North: the Square Zand with the new concert building, stroll along the main shopping street direction Market Square with a stop along the way to visit the Saint Saviour cathedral. Visit of the Market Square with the Belfry, next we walk toward the Burg Square with its beautiful Town Hall in Gothic. We end the morning with a cruise on the canals (duration: 30’) Lunch in typical restaurant with a unique historical setting (former guidhouse of the tanners guild) 3 course regional menu in a private room with view on the canals. Ghent (Gent) by coach
Upon arrival, transfer by taxi-boat towards the center of Ghent. Disembark at the Korenlei followed by a 2 hour visit on foot of the historical city center and its main highlights: Graslei and Korenlei, Saint Bavo cathedral (including the famous painting The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb by the van Eyck brothers), the Town Hall, the Square ‘Vrijdagsmarkt’ and a quick stroll through the Patershol district. DAY 3: Antwerp – Mechelen

Antwerp by bus
On foot we visit the historical center of Antwerp. We start our discovery of Antwerp at the docks of the river Scheldt (Schelde) and walk along the square Het Steenplein where the statue of the devil De Lange Wapper is overlooking the area. We make a stroll through the ‘Vlaeykensgang’, a medieval quarter full of narrow streets and blind alleys. On the Market Square (Grote Markt) the Brabo fountain, the beautiful Renaissance City Hall and the 16th and 17th century guild houses catch the eye.
Next we visit Our Lady cathedral. This magnificent Gothic church has great pieces of art by a.o. P.P. Rubens and other Flemish masters. Via the Groenplaats we reach the Meir and pass some landmarks put on the international fashion map by the Antwerp Six. We end the morning we a visit of the Rubens house museum. The museum was for twenty five years the house and atelier of the Baroque painter Pieter Paul Rubens.

Afternoon
Transfer to Mechelen This charming city is full of history and played an important role. In the first half of the 16th century under Margaret of Austria’s reign, it even became the capital of the Low Countries. We make a walk through the historical center of Mechelen and visit the Saint Rombouts Tower and make a stroll through the beguinage.

DAY 4: Leuven – Luik (Liège)

Leuven
Leuven is the oldest university city in Belgium and is home to one of Europe’s oldest universities (KU Leuven), founded in 1425. The university, one of the most important in Europe, has its roots in the center of Leuven, and its historic college buildings dominate many of the squares and streets.
We make a stroll through the historic city center and visit the beautiful Town Hall which is one of the best-known Gothic town halls worldwide.

Transfer to Liège, one of the most important cities in Wallonia (the French speaking part of Belgium). Liège is the cultural center of Wallonia with an intense artistic life as well as an important architectural heritage. As birthplace of the emperor Charlemagne and writer George Simenon the city has a rich heritage. City tour by bus and on foot of Liège including the basilica of Saint-Martin, the Prince Bishop’s Palace, Saint Barthélémy church we visit the famous Font baptismaux and more

DAY 5: Bastogne – Luxemburg

Transfer to
Bastogne. Here we visit the renewed Bastogne War Museum , a very lively and interesting war museum, built to commemorate the “Battle of the Ardennes”. Bastogne was in the winter of 1945 one of the most furious battle zones in the history of the Second World War.

Afternoon
Transfer to Luxembourg Visit of Luxembourg city, a Unesco world heritage city, by the upper part of the town by walking along the Place des Armes, the Place Guillaume II, the Cathedral and the monument in honor of the Grand-Duchesse Charlotte, and the palace of the Grand-Duke. Along the famous 3 Towers gate we reach the casemates of the Bock, an impressive system of tunnels made in the rocks. After visiting the casemates, we descend toward the lower city and visit the plateau of Kirchberg with its European Buildings and institutions, the abbey of Neumünster, the Wenceslas Wall.
We take the lift to reach again the upper city.

DAY 6: Bouillon – Dinant – Namur

Today we will visit the real Ardennes Transfer to Bouillon.
Visit of the château fort of Bouillon. The medieval fortress looks down on the city built alongside the Semois River. We continue our drive through the beautiful landscape and our next stop is Dinant, a picturesque village overlooking the Meuse River. Dinant is famous for its citadel, caves and also Adolphe Sax, the inventor of the saxophone lived here

Afternoon
We make a 45’ cruise on the river Meuse from Dinant to Anseremme passing by the famous Bayard rock. Transfer to Namur, the capital of Wallonia Once arrived we start with a city discovery tour of Namur, encompassing the main highlights in the historical city center. Visit of the citadel of Namur, one of the greatest strongholds in Europe. This site and its fortifications have illustrated several centuries of occupation and of military architecture from the Middle Ages up to the 20th century.

DAY 7: Mons – Zaventem

Today we visit Mons, nominated as European cultural capital of Europe in 2015
Visit of the historical city center of Mons including Town Hall, Garden Jardin du « Mayeur » and Collégiale Saint-Waudru Lunch in a typical restaurant in Mons
Afternoon Transfer to Zaventem/Brussels airport
