Day 2: Riga

Breakfast at hotel. The historic centre of Riga is located on the east side of Daugava River. The historic centre was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List (1997). Many buildings in the Old Town were reconstructed to restore the historic look of the area. Riga is famous for its Cathedral, the largest in Northern Europe, and St. Peter’s Church offering a wonderful panoramic view on the city from its observation tower. The best way to explore the centre is on foot. In this area is where you will find most of the city’s attractions: a series of open squares linked by charming, cobbled streets, historic churches and buildings. The historic centre of Riga has the biggest concentration of Art Nouveau buildings in Europe.
