Day 1: Arrival Zagreb
Arriving at the airport of Zagreb and sightseeing of Zagreb. The Croatian
capital will seduce you with its flair which is a combination of the middle
European and Slavic atmosphere. Dinner and overnight in Zagreb.
Day 2: Zagreb – Plitvice Lakes – Opatija
Following breakfast, journey to the south, to Plitvice Lakes National Park,
listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this
natural wonder with 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains
and lush vegetation. After Plitvice Lakes drive to Opatija. Dinner and
overnight in Opatija.
Day 3: Opatija – Pula – Rovinj
– Opatija
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Pula in the Istrian peninsula, walking
tour of Pula including a visit to the old Roman amphitheater from the 1st
century B.C. that used to be the 6th largest in the whole Roman Empire, Forum
and Triumphal Arch (1st century B.C.). Transfer to Rovinj, for a lot of people
the most beautiful town in Istria. Lunch, leisure time, return to Opatija,
dinner and overnight in Opatija.
Day 4: Opatija – Zadar
Breakfast in the hotel, bus ride towards Zadar via highway. Arriving to
Zadar, a former Dalmatian capital. Lunch and exploring of the old town of Zadar
with its unforgettable highlights – the round church of St. Donatus (9th
century) which is the largest pre-Romanesque building in Croatia, and Sea
organ, a unique feature worldwide. Continuing the trip along the coast,
arriving to Split, dinner in the hotel.
Day 5: Zadar
Free day
Day 6: Zadar – Sibenik – Split
Continuing the trip along the coast and arriving in Trogir. A UNESCO site
and a remarkable example of urban continuity that dates back to the Hellenistic
period, with beautiful Romanesque churches and Renaissance and Baroque
buildings from the Venetian period. Transfer to Split and free time for a walking tour in the historic inner city, built around the
Roman emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See
the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures,
Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle and the Cathedral. Overnight in Split
Day 7: Split
After breakfast, walking tour in the historic inner city, built around the
Roman emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See
the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures,
Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle and the Cathedral. Rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight Split.
Day 8: Split – Dubrovnik
After breakfast transfer to Dubrovnik. Sightseeing
Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik
was founded at the bottom of hill named Srđ (412m) in 6th
century. It is one of world famous tourist destinations with particularly
attractive historic town center surrounded by thick walls with bastions, towers
and castles (12-18th century). The city is surrounded by 1940 meters long stone
walls that attract visitors from all over the world. Visit the UNESCO’s List of
World Cultural Heritage – the Franciscan Monastery with one of Europe’s oldest
pharmacies, the Rector’s Palace and the Cathedral. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 9: Dubrovnik
Enjoy a free day in Dubrovnik or take an optional excursion: three islands excursion, wine tour on Pelješac peninsula, home hosted dinner, excursion to Mostar in Bosnia and
Herzegovina, excursion to
Kotor and Budva in Montenegro, oyster experience, quad
or horseback riding, Mljet
National Park boat excursion….
Day 10: Departure
Transfer to Dubrovnik Airport for your flight home.
