DAY 1 VIENNA
Arrival in Vienna and meet & greet with the guide. Transfer to the hotel and check in. In the evening, we will enjoy a get together dinner at one of the typical wine taverns in Neustift am Walde or Nussdorf or Grinzing,the wine-growing districts of Vienna.
DAY 2 VIENNA
In the morning we will discover the city on a panoramic tour with a drive along the
Ringstrasse, Vienna’s main boulevard, passing by the Hofburg Palace, the Opera
House, the twin museums – Fine Art History Museum and Nature History Museum,
Parliament, City Hall, Votiv Church, St Charles Church, Musikverein which houses the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the monument of Johann Strauss, father of the Waltz. Visit of the Gardens of Belvedere Palace.
Afterwards we will continue our visit on a walking tour through the old town, which will approach us to the St Stephan’s Cathedral, Mozart Residence and the old Jewish
Quartier. We will end the tour having a coffee break in a typical Viennese coffee house to enjoy a coffee accompanied by the famous Sacher Cake.
Afternoon free at leisure, where you will have the opportunity to visit the Schönbrunn Castle and enjoy a Viennese evening with a concert featuring the classical masterpieces of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss, two of Vienna’smost famous citizens.
DAY 3 VIENNA
Breakfast buffet at the hotel.
Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Vienna by your own. As European cultural capital, Vienna offers stunning palaces, historical monuments, fascinating museums and a multicultural gastronomy, with reminiscences from the countries of the old Austrian-Hungarian Empire.
DAY 4 VIENNA – DANUBE’S VALLEY – BAD ISCHL
We start our journey to Austria departing to Dürnstein, located on the banks of the Danube River and surrounded by historical vineyards and historical cultural monuments. We will have some free time to walk around the cozy old town before we board a boat ride on the river (May to October ), which will take us to Melk, where we will visit the Benedictine abbey, a gem of the Austrian baroque architecture.
Continue of the trip to Bad Ischl, in the heart of the Lakes andMountains District.
DAY 5 BAD ISCHL – HALLSTATT/SALZKAMMERGUT– SALZBURG
Today we will go on the footsteps of the Imperial family visiting the Kaiservilla, wedding present from Archduchess Sophieto her son, the Emperor Franz Joseph once he got married to Sissi.
We continue to the most beautiful town in Austria, Hallstatt, a picturesque village placed between the lake and the mountain and offering spectacular views to the visitor. Afterwards we head to St Wolfgang, on the shores of the St Wolfgang Lake. Have a walk through this fairy tale town before we board on a boat ride across the lake towards St. Gilgen. From St Gilgen we will continue the tour to Salzburg, passing by Mondsee to visit the church of the wedding scene in “Sound of Music” film. Arrival in Salzburg.
DAY 6 SALZBURG
Breakfast buffet at the hotel and panoramic city tour to discover Mozart’s hometown, passing by Mirabell Palace, Mozarteum ( the music university), Marionette Theater, Mozart’s Residence, Trinity Church, Hellbrunn Palace (only outside ), Nonnberg Abbey, Festival Halls, Horse Bath, Getreidegasse and Mozart Square.
Afternoon free at leisure. We suggest you to complete your stay in the city with a visit in the Salt Mines in Hallein or at the city’s beer brewery Stiegl. In the evening we will have also the opportunity to enjoy a concert with the best Mozart’s pieces.
DAY 7 SALZBURG – WERFEN – ZELL AM SEE
We will admire today one of the most beautiful natural creations on our
way to Zell am See, the Ice Cave in Werfen ( May to October ). After a cable car ride we will a walking tour inside the cave, traversing about 134 altitude meters while being astonished by the beauty of the ice sculptures and the impressive dimensions of the cave.
We continue our tour to Zell am See, one of the main ski and mountain activities resort of Austria. In the afternoon we will explore its city center, with main sites such as the Kastnerturm or Constable’s Tower, the oldest building in town dating from 12th Century; the town’s Parish church; the Castle Rosenberg from 16th Century and which houses today the city Hall and a gallery. Afternoon free at leisure.
DAY 8 ZELL AM SEE – KITZBÜHEL – WATTENS –INNSBRUCK
Breakfast buffet at the hotel and departure to Kitzbühel, the sports capital in the heart of the Alps which combines tradition and lifestyle as charming as any other city. It offers many possibilities for sporting activities in beautiful nature combined with a historical center with almost chic flair of doing business.
Continue to Wattens, where we will visit the Chambers of Wonder at Swarovski Crystal World, where internationally and nationally recognized artists, designers, and architects have interpreted crystal in their own unique ways. They create concepts of space and experience from the sparkling material. Arrival in Innsbruck and rest of the day free at leisure.
DAY 9 INNSBRUCK
After breakfast we will go on a walking tour through the old town. The middle Ages meet the 21st century where charming little alleys meet the broad promenade
of Maria-Theresien-Straße and The Golden Roof, the Hofkirche, traditional inns and the Imperial Palace bring history to life. We will continue to Bergisel, the Olympic ski jumping site which offers us breathtaking views over the city and the mountain walls. Afternoon free at leisure.
DAY 10 INNSBRUCK– LIENZ – VILLACH – VELDEN AM WÖRTHERSEE
Today we will cross the Alps to get to Lienz, a picturesque town in East Tyrol. We will continue to Villach, where we will enjoy some free time to stroll through the old town, watching the bustle on the squares, wander through the narrow alleys and scour interesting shops before we head to Velden am Wörthersee, the Austrian Riviera and main meeting point of the local jet set.
DAY 11 VELDEN AM WÖRTHERSEE – KLAGENFURT – GRAZ
We will start the day with a boat tour on the lake Wörther, crossing it to get Klagenfurt on the opposite shore. Upon disembark we will go on a walking tour passing by its Italian palaces and cultural treasures such as the Coat of Arms Hall, the Carinthian Museum of Modern Art, the Klagenfurt City Theatre or the romantic Lendkanal, before we head to our next highlight of this tour, the Fortress of Hochosterwitz. Built between 14th and 15thCenturies on top of a hill, the fortress’ main landmark are the 14 walled gates which open up to the armoury yard.
We continue our to to Graz, a lively city thanks to its student population.
DAY 12 GRAZ
On our city tour we will discover the top 10 highlights of Graz, starting on a drive with the mountain railway to Schlossberg, from where we will enjoy the view over the old town as well as its main landmark, the Clock Tower. Coming down we will stroll around the the catedral or the Mausoleum nearby, the Landeszeughaus armoury and the Glockenspiel to the Mur Island, a futurist view platform on the river. Afternoon free to enjoy this pulsating city.
DAY 13 GRAZ– VIENNA
Breakfast buffet and transfer to Vienna. Arrival and day at leisure.
In the evening, we will gather together for the last time with a dinner on the top of the Danube Tower.
DAY 14 VIENNA
Breakfast buffet at the hotel and transfer to the airport at the appointed hour.
