DAY BAY DAY

  • DAY 1: Transfer Baltra Airport – Santa Cruz Highlands – Lava Tunnels

Our guide will pick you up at Baltra airport to transfer you by public bus to the Itabaca channel, (since July 2017) you must pay USD 5 directly, after crossing the channel by ferry, we will take the transportation and take you to your hotel in Puerto Ayora.

The excursion to the highlands gives you the opportunity to see the giant turtles in their natural habitat, and also enter the lava tunnels. Lunch.

In the afternoon visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, the main objective is to carry out scientific research and environmental education for the conservation and biodiversity of the Archipelago.

  • DAY 2: Bay Tour & Tortuga Bay Beach

After breakfast the day begins with a Bay Tour, we will visit the “La Lobería” Island, named for the great colony of sea lions where you can snorkel surrounded by sea lions, it is a very special place to observe a variety of goldfish, diversity of seabed species.

Then we go to Punta Estrada you can see seagulls, boobies, frigates, sea lions, etc.

Visit the Sharks Channel, where you can see sharks and from the viewpoint you can see the port and the mountains of the highlands. Visit Playa de los Perros to observe a marine iguana colony. Our last visit will be in the Cracks where this landscape is formed by interesting lava figures that form two gigantic walls crossed by a salty water arm and that is mixed with seawater and recommended for swimming and surface diving, for the transparency of its water. Lunch.

After lunch we will visit the Tortuga Bay Beach, best known because it is a nesting beach for the black turtle. One of the longest white sand beaches, you can share your time and relax with marine iguanas, sharks and sea turtles. Return to the hotel.

  • DAY 3: Navigation Isabela Island – Tintoreras Channel 

After breakfast at approximately 07:00, transfer from the hotel to the pier to take the speedboat to Isabela Island. Upon arrival on the island and because of a local municipality regulation, the dock use fee must be paid in cash

Arnaldo Tupiza Breeding Center: Place of breeding of giant tortoises from eggs to adolescence, in the same facilities of National Park of the 5 races of giant land turtles of Isabela Island.

Flamingos Lagoon: This place is the largest lagoon in the Galapagos and is one of the main breeding sites for most flamingos.

Tintoreras Islet: It is a small rocky islet named because there is a lava crack with calm and transparent water, “tintoreras” usually go to rest. Throughout the trail you can see marine iguanas between the rocks or under the mangroves. There are two small beaches one of white sand where there are colonies of sea lions and endemic plants and another beach of black stones. Return to Santa Cruz at the end of the afternoon

  • DAY 4: Santa Fe Island Navigation – Escondida Beach

After breakfast at approximately 07:00 transfer from the hotel to the pier to take the speedboat to Santa Fe Island. Located to the south east of Santa Cruz, we will sail towards a beautiful bay of crystal clear water surrounded by cactus and mangroves, from our boat we will observe a white sand beach, full of sea lions and the ravines populated by a small giant cactus forest, sea birds such as Pelicanos, brunette seagulls and blue-footed boobies fly over us, with our yacht we will approach the beach and carefully observe Tintoreras resting on the shore, in the mangroves it is common to observe the Galápagos Gavilan.

The calm of the fauna on the islands, it is surprising, they do not feel fear of the human being! It’s a great opportunity to interact with them and take unforgettable photos.

Snorkeling in Santa Fe is spectacular…! Playful sea lions invite us to swim, we will observe sea turtles, striped blankets, a variety of multicolored fish and occasional sharks. Lunch on board

After lunch, we will sail 30 minutes to Playa Escondida, with white sand in the middle of a very quiet bay, where we will disembark to relax and enjoy the sun and the sea. Special for swimming and continuing with the practice of snorkeling. Return to Santa Cruz at the end of the afternoon

  • DAY 5: Transfer hotel in Puerto Ayora – Airport in Baltra

Scheduled transfer to Baltra airport, the pick-up will depend on the confirmed local flight time, return to Quito or Guayaquil.
