pyramid-shaped structure is made up of small casements, each with tiny
windows and arched roofs with hanging cornices, exquisitely modelled and
carved. Jantar Mantar, a stone observatory built by an astronomer king.
The City Palace, which was the principal residence of the former ruling
family and is known for its stunning architecture.

Tour visiting Fort. The golden-hued Jaisalmer Fort, also known as
‘Sonar Kila’ can be seen miles away before reaching the town standing
almost 30 metres over the city andhouses an entire living area within
its huge ramparts. Walking through the narrow lanes is an experience
worth savoring. Havelies – some of the famous havelies are Nathmalji Ki
Haveli carved by two brothers in 19th century the architecture in stone
is the epitome of skill and beauty, Patwon Ki Haveli a five storied high
building with extensive corridors and chambers all supported by
exquisitely carved pillars and one of the largest and most elaborate
havelies in Jaisalmer, Salim Singh ki Haveli distinctive for its blue
cupola roof covered entirely with intricate carvings and has an
elaborate projecting balcony adorning the top storey. Gadisar Lake a
rain water lake. All around the lake are many small shrines and a
spectacular variety of birds can be seen here. Jain Temples within the
fort complex are many beautiful Jain temples. Bada Bagh situated at a
distance of 6 kms, surrounded by densely grown trees and on the bank of
an artificial lake are the royal cenotaphs with ornate carving on the
ceiling and carved images of former rulers.

Jodhpur City Tour Visiting Meherangarh Fort. Spread over 5 km on a stiff
rugged hill and looking sown from a height of about 100 mtrs, the fort
appears impenetrable from outside but houses some of the most
intricately adorned palaces with exquisitely carved panels and latticed
windows. Various palaces inside the fort houses a collection of
palanquins, royal cradles miniatures, musical instruments, costumes,
colourful turbans and antique furniture. Jaswanthada is a cluster of
royal cenotaphs in white marble and lies close to the fort. Built in
1899 A.D. in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh, these cenotaphs also
houses portraits of the rulers of Jodhpur. It has extremely rare 15 cm
thick milk white marble slabs.

Day12-Jodhpur –Udaipur via Ranakpur-06 Hrs Drive One Way

Ranakpur Jain Temple were built during the reign of the liberal and
gifted monarch Rana Kumbha in the 15th century. An enormous basement
covers 48,000 sq. feet area. There are four subsidiary shrines, twenty
four pillared halls and eligibly domes supported by over four hundred
columns.
The total number of columns is 1,444 all of which are intricately carved
no two being alike. The artistically carved nymphs playing the flute in
various dance postures at a height of 45 feet are an engrossing sight.
In the assembly hall, there are two big bells weighing 108 kgs. whose
sound echoes in the entire complex.

Palace – built in 1725. Jagdish temple built by Maharana Jagat Singh I
in the year 1651, and dedicated to Lord Vishnu, other places, Crystal
Gallery-The Crystal Gallery in Fateh Prakash Palace overlooks the grand
Durbar Hall. It has a rare collection of Osler’s crystal ordered from
England by Maharana Sajjan Singh in 1877.

Sahelion ki Bari-The ‘Garden of the Maidens’ brings to mind the unique
lifestyle of the Ladies of the Court. Jagdish Temple-Built in 1651 AD by
Maharana Jagat Singh I and dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple has an
imposing 79 ft high pagoda covered with sculptures of dancers,
musicians, elephants and horsemen.
